I am fascinated by the unknown connections that we are constantly making with both the living and the dead. I look at old items in junk shops or pieces of paper on the street and think about the journey they've made to end up in front of me. I wonder how many people have touched it, and if there was a connection with them that I'll never know about. I wonder if the energy from that stranger is still somehow attached to it, and if that energy follows me home.

I like to think that if these items are incorporated into my paintings and drawings, I'm creating conversations between people that never would have met otherwise.
